The Patina process is a lengthy one. The bronze is heated with a powerful blowtorch until the bronze ‘sweats’.
Combinations of chemicals are sprayed onto the Heated Bronze surface, speeding up the natural oxidisation of the non-ferrous metal.
Depending on the recipe, the combinations result in beautiful colours that are set by applying wax to the cooled surface.
The bronze Sculpture was cast in pieces and has been welded together to specification. After welding sections together the textures are replicated and integrated to hide weldlines.

My Black Eagle sculpture has recently been cast in bronze, in the lost wax process the sculpture is cut up into sections. These pictures are illustrative of the raw bronze still partly “gated up” before sandblasting, ceramic removal, welding together and fettling.
